This course will provide an overview on the characteristics of different phosphate binders for treatment of hyperphosphatemia in dialysis patients. It will describe the general mode of action and administration of phosphate binders, discuss effects of phosphate binders and explain how vitamin D and calcimimetics can be used in the treatment of Secondary Hyperparathyroidism (SHPT), and different barriers to CKD-MBD management.
