In this presentation, the main factors that condition performances of hemodiafiltration including blood flow, dialyzer design, and surface area, substitution and ultrafiltration flow, dialysate flow, anticoagulation, and treatment time will be revisited. By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to understand what differs between hemodiafiltration and high-flux hemodialysis, why it is important to fine-tune hemodiafiltration prescriptions, and what the targets are needed to achieve to provide full benefits to patients.
