Data-Driven PD: Advancing Analytics for Better Outcomes

May 20 @ 9:00 am - 9:45 am CEST

Welcome to the Webinar Series!

Our medical education programs are delivered by experts in their fields and cover a variety of disease-state education topics related to dialysis, critical care and beyond.

Data-Driven PD: Advancing Analytics for Better Outcomes:

Data-Driven PD: Advancing Analytics for Better Outcomes” will examine how machine learning and modern analytics are being applied to adult peritoneal dialysis, drawing on recent evidence from the past five years. The session will summarize the most investigated use cases—especially risk prediction for outcomes such as mortality and cardiovascular events, along with models targeting technique complications (e.g., ultrafiltration failure, peritonitis risk, transport changes). We’ll also explore opportunities to build the next generation of therapies and clinical workflows, including integrating biomarker and connected-device/sensor signals to enable earlier intervention and more personalized, proactive care. Key takeaways include a clear picture of where evidence is strongest today, what high-impact next steps look like (validation, workflow integration, actionable outputs), and the main implementation barriers—generalizability across centers, limited external/prospective validation, data integration and governance challenges, and operational adoption in real-world PD programs.

Speaker: Luca Neri, PhD, Fresenius Medical Care, Italy
